Horse Riding

Seongeup Horse Riding Course is a professional horse riding experience center with a 30-year tradition. It is also Jeju Island’s first horseback riding course, and has the longest long-distance riding course in Jeju Island. Equestrian equipment such as vests, boots, horseback riding hats, and helmets can be rented free of charge, and you can choose between a basic experience course that goes around the ranch and a high-end horseback riding course that goes far outside the ranch.

Seongeup Village

The entire village, which preserves the living site of the people of old Jeju, has been designated as an Important Folklore Cultural Heritage. Though it can be considered a folk village of sorts, it differs from regular folk villages in that people still live in it to this day. The village residents act as volunteer guides to offer visitors all sorts of information. The Saw-leaf Zelkova and Japanese hackberry in the center of the village are worth taking time to see.

Saryoni Forest Path

Saryoni (Saryeoni) Forest Path is a forest walking trail that starts from Bijarim-ro and goes through Mulchat Oreum Volcanic Cone and Saryoni Oreum Volcanic Cone.
Saryoni Forest Path is thick with cedars. A variety of species of trees grow in the forest, such as Konara Oak, Red-Leaved Hornbeam, Snowbell, Hinoki Cypress, and cedar. The average altitude is 550m.
This is one of the hidden 31 views of Jeju. It is popular among tourists who love hiking, because the nature of the forest hasn’t been tampered with.

Jeju Stone Park

Jeju Stone Museum is a museum and ecological park which shows general and systemic stone culture of Jeju Island, the homeland of stones. The park opened on June 3, 2006. Construction at the park finished in February 2021. The Jeju Stone Museum is very big. Since you will be able to see all the stone culture of Jeju Island in one place, it is good to have a relaxed schedule to enjoy it.

Seongsan Sunrise (Ilchulbong) Peak

Seongsan Ilchulbong has long been considered one of the top scenic destinations in Korea. It attracts millions of visitors a year, many of whom climb to the top for the breathtaking panoramic view of the ocean, Udo Island, Hallasan Mountain, and the volcanic landscape of the east. Though people used to farm in the crater, it is now a natural habitat for 200 types of vegetation such as silvergrass and giant angelica, among others, as well as a natural habitat for a variety of wild animals. It was designated a Natural Monument on July 19, 2000 and subsequently recognized for its outstanding geological value by UNESCO on July 2, 2007, when it was added to the World Natural Heritage List. The peak was also named a Global Geopark Network site in October, 2010.

Jeongbang Falls

Jeongbang Falls is one of the Jeju Island’s top 3 falls, along with Cheonjiyeon Falls and Cheonjeyeon Falls. It is the only fall in Korea where water falls directly into the sea.
The fall is 23m high and the two streams of waterfall that fall down the black cliff create a thrilling sound and a wonderful view. Moreover, the steep cliffs and old pine trees around the fall create a picturesque view, and this view was chosen as one of the Ten Scenic Sights of Yeongju with the name of “Jeongbanghapok”.

Lee Jung Seop Street

This street was renamed on March 2, 1996 and the restoration of the nearby residential area began the following year. Though he only resided in Seogwipo for a brief period of time, the massive influence it had on him can be seen in his works of art. Seogwipo-si seeks to celebrate his great passion for creativity and undying artistry for future generations and provide both visitors and residents in the region with a chance to sympathize with his artistic traces.

Yeomiji Botanic Garden

Indoor Garden: A three acre large glass greenhouse consists of a Mystery Garden, a Central Hall, where various exhibitions of flowers and plants take place, a Flower Garden, an Aquatic Garden, a Cactus Garden, a Jungle Garden, and a Tropical Fruits Garden. At the center is a 38-meter tall observation tower.
Outdoor Garden: On 24 acres of land, there are about 1,000 kinds of warm temperate and temperate zone plants in various gardens, including Japanese, Korean, Italian, and French Gardens and Lawn, as well as Herb and Bog Gardens.

Saeyeongyo Bridge & Saeseom Island

Saeyeongyo Bridge is the longest pedestrian overpass created in the southern-most area of the country. The bridge, inspired by ‘Tewu’ (Jeju’s traditional log boat), was opened in September 2009, and connects Seogwipo Port and Birds Island. The overpass is the first single cable-stayed bridge ever created in Korea. The bridge has a major tower inspired by the wind and a sail and flamboyant LED lights.
The island also has diverse convenience and leisure facilities such as a 1.2 kilometer walking path, a public square, wooden deck road, pebble road, forest walking path and theme photo zone.

Omegi Tteok (Omegi Rice Cake or Citrus Chip)

Since it is almost impossible to grow rice in jeju, the locals have farmed millet or barley instead. Omegi tteok is a type of rice cake made by kneading millet powder. Recently, glutinous rice or mugwort powder has been added, turning the dough a shade of green. The millet dough is stuffed with red bean paste, rolled into round balls and coated with mashed red bean, bean powder and nuts.
